Your High-Impact Role
ABC CREATE teachers already know what good teaching looks like. The rapid evolution of AI requires us to explore the next vision: What does creative, high-impact instruction look like with AI? This initiative is for educators interested in actively shaping how AI enters our schools—not merely as a teacher efficiency tool or data management system, but as a catalyst for creative thinking and deeper learning across core content areas like Math, Science, and ELA. We will use the tool Google Teachable Machine as an "object-to-think-with" as we consider the role of creative AI in classroom pedagogy.
We are seeking a core group of up to 20 forward-thinking SW PA teachers, K-12, all subjects to join the AI Content Collaborative. Over the course of 4 (four) synchronous sessions (1 in person, 3 virtual) you will help develop and pilot 3 (three) content-connected AI student activities that genuinely integrate creative AI into core subject areas. This is your chance to directly influence the content and structure of professional development for the wider ABC CREATE network and beyond!

FAQs
What if I can't attend all the sessions?
We'll record the virtual sessions so you can watch later if needed. Our biggest hope is to get your feedback! If you are interested, but have to miss one or two sessions, that is ok - especially if you CAN invite other teachers to attend! The in-person kickoff session will be the most essential one to attend live.
How do I invite other teachers?
We will discuss strategies at the in-person kickoff event at the CodeJoy studio. However, if you'd like to raise awareness now, send them to this website to learn more!
Will the online stuff be boring?
We hope not! CodeJoy has earned a reputation in the ABC CREATE teacher community for creating active, interesting, creative online learning experiences in the realm of coding and robotics education. We hope that YOUR feedback can help us bring our approach to AI education. We've been dabbling in AI education for a few years now, and we're launching something new with your help.
What if I don't like chili?
No worries! We'll have some other snacks available, and you're always welcome to bring your own food. You can also let us know about any dietary restrictions you may have on the registration form.
What grades is this for?
This is for any K-12 teachers or district leadership personnel (curriculum lead, tech integration, STEM, etc) interested in the topic! Our goal is to create broadly accessible creative AI content, that can be scaffolded K-12.
